William Darrell Armer, age 75, of Vian, Oklahoma, passed away on April 19, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1950, in Vian to Essie (Ray) Armer and Chester Armer. William dedicated part of his life serving his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and made his livelihood as a truck driver.
He was united in marriage to Leona (Risley) Armer on January 19, 1973, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Together, they shared many years of companionship and love.
William is lovingly remembered by his wife, Leona; his daughter, Misty Frederick and her husband Donnie of Vian; three granddaughters, Lacie Frederick and Drake Fieldgrove, Leanna Frederick and Dustin Delancy, and Emily Shover and Brian, all of Vian; and nine great-grandchildren: MaKayla, Haven, Logan, Mason, Maverick, Raena, Aleah, William, and Tilly. He is also survived by his mother, Essie Armer of Vian; his sister, Sandra Clopton and Larry of Vian; brothers Johnny Armer and Sharon, and Gary Armer, all of Vian; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
William was preceded in death by his father; his sister Virginia Harvey; and his brothers Carl, Edward, Andy, and Roger Armer.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Blackgum Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Box Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 AM until 8 PM on Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Shover, Dustin Delancy, Drake Fieldgrove, James Martin, Jesse Martin, and Ricky Lawrence. Honorary pallbearer will be Garin Lawrence.
