Virginia Ruth (Irwin) Ross

Funeral service for Virginia Ruth Ross, 81 of Wanette, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on February 13, 1941 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Lois (Sumner) Irwin and Olen Irwin and passed away on January 30, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was married to Junior James Ross on August 23, 1957 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1981. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.

Survivors are three daughters, Teresa Griffin and Floyd of Pauls Valley, OK, Audrey Durkee and Greg of Waynoka, OK and Gina Ross and Albert of Ardmore, OK; two sons, Jimmy Ross and companion, Renee, of Wanette, OK and David Ross of Wanette, OK; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Hollon of Chandler, OK; one brother, Jesse Irwin of Del City, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Don Ross; her husband; two grandsons, Bobby Joe Smith and James Alan Durkee; one granddaughter, Olivia Ross; one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Fay Oates; her parents; and one sister, Verna Boggs.

Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Durkee, Matthew Durkee, Dustin Durkee, James Ross, Cody Ross, Jimmy Ross, David Ross and David James Kline.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
