Virginia V. O'Neal, age 89, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on December 22, 2025. Born on March 12, 1936, in Liberty, Oklahoma, to Eva Bell (Jeremiah) Reed and Edgar James Reed, Virginia devoted her life to her family, church and community. On August 30, 1952, she married Arnold D. O'Neal in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Together they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy until his passing on November 14, 2017. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Sallisaw, Oklahoma for over 60 years. Virginia was known for her passion for gardening, painting, sewing, solving puzzles, cooking, and reading. She was especially fond of cats, bringing warmth and companionship into her life.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Arlene O'Neal Gaut of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her two sons, Steve O'Neal and Debbie of Sallisaw, and Mark O'Neal and Angela of Alma, Arkansas. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her 10 grandchildren: Amiee Wensen, Rebecca Crawford, Kathleen Kastner, Jared Clements, Jennifer O'Neal, Misty Waters, Ryan O'Neal, Brandy Bodiford, Leslie Houck, and Amanda Bright, as well as 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Sue Bynum and Kenneth of Muldrow, Oklahoma; her brothers, Herbert Reed and Judy of Roland, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Reed and Brenda of Liberty, Oklahoma; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, and two sisters, Helen Price and Oma Lee Ogdon.
A funeral service to honor Virginia's life will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Active pallbearers will be Ryan O'Neal, Jared Clements, Kyle Waters, Scott Bodiford, Matt Houck, and Tanner Bright. Honorary pallbearers will be her cherished great-grandchildren.
The family invites friends to attend a viewing from 2 - 8 PM on Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK, where they will greet visitors from 6 - 8 PM.
Virginia will be remembered for her kindness, love, and the indelible marks she left on the hearts of those who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
