Tommy “Tom” Zelph Richison, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, surrounded by the assurance of his faith. He was born on February 20, 1941, to Imogene and Newell Richison of Fort Smith, Arkansas, who preceded him in death.
Tommy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong learner. He shared 57 loving years of marriage with his wife, Irma Dean Scott-Richison, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life grounded in dedication, perseverance of Faith, and love for family and friends.
Tommy placed a high value on education and service. He earned a Doctorate in Education from the University of Tulsa, an achievement that reflected his commitment to learning and personal growth. He was also a proud 32nd Degree Mason, a distinction that spoke to his principles of integrity, brotherhood, and service to others.
In addition to his professional and civic accomplishments, Tommy was an avid amateur radio operator. He found great enjoyment in the technical challenge and worldwide connections that amateur radio provided, a hobby that reflected his curiosity and love of communication.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Irma; his daughter, Michelle Anderson; his son-in-law, David Anderson; and his cherished grandson, Marshall Anderson, who brought him great pride and joy.
Tommy will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to both his family and his faith. While his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in the hope and promise of eternal life through Christ.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on December 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. His memory and Christian legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
