Stacey Danine Parsons was born to Clyde Parsons Jr. and Helen Faye (Marrs) Parsons on January 26, 1968, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and left this world surrounded by family on July 1, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, of natural causes.
Stacey lived every day with joy, having never met a stranger. Born with Down Syndrome, she displayed an appreciation for life that was contagious. She was always the most excited person in the room the moment she spotted someone she recognized. She attended Muldrow Elementary special education classes and later graduated from Gans Public Schools.
She spent many happy years working at People Inc. in Sallisaw and at Bentonville Public School’s Central Park Elementary Library. She also competed in the Special Olympics for many years. Along with her family, she loved Central Public Schools. During her younger years, Stacey became a beloved fixture at school activities, cheering on students and staff like they were all her own.
She found joy in the simple things: movies, a good book (as long as the main character was named Stacey), doing jigsaw puzzles, coloring, exploring the outdoors, and time with animals. Some of her happiest hours were spent coloring with her crayons while watching westerns with her dad. More than anything, she loved her family, and she was always everyone’s biggest cheerleader.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Faye Parsons; her father, Clyde “Junior” Parsons; and her brother, Steven Parsons.
She is survived by her sisters, Kelly Pope and Kathy Ostrander (husband Scott Ostrander); her nephews, Dr. Jeffry Ostrander (wife Audrey Ostrander) and Steven Ostrander (wife Natalie Fullbright); four great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Graveside services will be held at Fleetwood Cemetery on Central High Road in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 am under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Stacey’s memory to People Inc., 205 S. J.T. Stites Blvd., Sallisaw, OK 74955.
