Scott Richard Miller, 53, formerly of Sallisaw, was born to Richard Miller and Janet (Richardson) Miller on October 5, 1971 in Kellogg, Idaho. His earthly journey ended on August 24, 2025 at his home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Scott attended elementary school in Sallisaw and Kellogg, Idaho before moving to Catoosa for junior high and most of high school. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard as a junior and returned to Sallisaw for his senior year. He was an avid wrestler from the time he was old enough to train and compete, and played baseball, soccer and football. Once he was out of school, he helped coach young wrestlers in Sallisaw. He was also past member of the American Legion Carnie Welch Post 27 in Sallisaw and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Scott made his career as a first assistant scrub tech, working with the orthopedic surgeons in Fort Smith, for over 20 years. He loved working with a great team of doctors and coworkers until a motorcycle accident in 2017 changed his course in life.
Scott loved life, living it by his rules. Anyone who knew him, can tell many stories of the crazy things they got up to, survived, got away with, and had a blast doing together. He enjoyed taking roads trip on his motorcycle and family events. His favorite holiday was Fourth of July, where he and his older brother would put on a show to rival the town show across the street. He enjoyed having large cookouts, grilling and using his smoker while hosting family and friends. He always had country or classic rock music jamming in the background.
Scott is survived by one son, Ryan Miller and Amanda of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one daughter, Jordan Edge and Tyler of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his father, Richard Miller of Sallisaw; one sister, Nancy Miller of Sallisaw; one grandson, Alek Miller of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Miller; and his brother, Sam “Charlie” Miller.
