Rosie Mae Flute

Funeral Service for Rosie Mae Flute, age 73, of Flute Springs, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Rosie Mae Flute was born on May 25, 1952, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Leona (Fogg) Flute and Charlie Flute. She passed away on April 6, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rosie devoted much of her life caring for her family and worked as a secretary for the Cherokee Nation Housing Authority.

She is survived by her companion, Calvin Christie; two daughters, Leanne Flute of Tahlequah and Georgia Ann Crawler and Kenny of Marble City; eight grandchildren: Winterhawk Grimmett of Flute Springs, OK, Koby Grimmett and Kyla of Flute Springs, OK, Charlie Grimmett of Flute Springs, OK, Blaze Slinker of Tahlequah, OK, Blade Slinker of Tahlequah, OK, Rowdy Flute of Tahlequah, OK, Kinny Crawler of Marble City, OK and Kalvin Crawler of Marble City, OK; one great-grandchild, Kamaya Grimmett; one sister, Nita Cochran and Jerry of Stillwell, Oklahoma; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who cherished her.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Leon Carey; one grandchild, Kylee Faith Grimmett; and one nephew, Stephen Levi Cochran.

Active pallbearers will be Koda Noisey, George “Boogie” Flute, Allen Pettit, Rodney Pettit, Daulton Cochran, Grant Cochran, and Cale Conley. Honorary pallbearers include George Mack Flute, Johnny Flute, Thomas Flute, Jr., Monroe Christie, Roy Lee Grimmett, and Zeke Mocasin.

A viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, where the family will greet from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
