Roger Lee Coatney

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger Coatney, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was born on November 14, 1956 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Shirley Mae (Martin) Coatney and Fred Aubrey Coatney and passed away on June 27, 2026 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He was married to Janet (Taylor) Coatney on February 25, 1975 in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

Roger was a jack-of-all-trades from working in coal mines to Whirlpool, nursing home maintenance and carpentry. He was a great provider, advice giver and role model to his family. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Survivors are wife, Janet of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Milligan and Ron of Muldrow, OK; one son, Mark Coatney of the home; one granddaughter, Raven Durham and Wes of Muldrow, OK; three grandsons, Blaine Watkins and Mya of Muldrow, OK, Chance Yoakum and Mattie of Muldrow, OK and Braydon Yoakum and Piper of Muldrow, OK; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Coatney and Terry of Clarmore, OK; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
