Rev. Loyd Burrows was born on March 6, 1940, in Waveland, Arkansas, to Lou Ellen (Howard) Burrows and Russell Lee Burrows. He passed away on August 28, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Loyd lived a life marked by hard work, faith, family, and a love for music and the outdoors. He was a lithographer by trade, a veteran of the United States Army Reserve, and an ordained minister and evangelist with the Worldwide Evangelism Organization. His faith was an important part of his life, and throughout the years, he enjoyed sharing the Gospel and preaching at various churches.

Loyd married Jean in 1961, and together they began their life in Shreveport, Louisiana, where they lived for six years. While there, he worked for AMF Beaird, Inc. In September 1966, they moved to Booneville, Arkansas, where they raised their children, Teresa and Tim. Loyd worked for the Booneville Democrat until January 1971 and then began a long career with Wolverine Toy, where he remained from January 1971 until March 1989. During their years in Booneville, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and preaching at various churches. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he worked for Zapata from April 1989 until March 2002 and for State Beauty Supply from April 2002 until April 2012. His years in Muskogee brought many opportunities to enjoy some of his favorite things, including bluegrass music, playing his guitar, fishing, and trips to Branson, Missouri. Loyd and Jean shared 46 years of marriage before her passing in 2007.

In 2010, Loyd married Earlene, beginning another special chapter in his life. Through their marriage, he was blessed with a second daughter and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he welcomed into his heart and loved as his own.

Loyd later made his home in Muldrow, Oklahoma, where he worked at 64 Mini Storage from May 2018 until May 2026. He continued to enjoy bluegrass music, fishing, playing his guitar, participating in music groups, and being involved in church activities. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and especially enjoyed the grandbabies who brought so much happiness to his life.

He is survived by his wife, Earlene, of the home; children, Teresa Jean Organ and Janice Gibson and husband Tracy; grandchildren, Colby Gibson and wife Hayley, London Lee and husband Landen, and Melissa Rogers; sister, Linda Rogers and husband Bud; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, all of whom he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Burrows; his parents, Lou Ellen and Russell Lee Burrows; one son, Timothy Lee Burrows; and siblings, Carl Burrows, Bill Burrows, and Anna Faye Young.

Active Pallbearers will be Gus Young, Cliff McAnally, Michael Wilkins, Charlie Styles, Tracy Gibson, Colby Gibson, and Landen Lee.
