Rema (Houston) James

Graveside service for Rema James, 86 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Box Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on November 28, 1936 in Vian, Oklahoma to Martha (Buttery) Houston and Kirby Houston and passed away on April 13, 2023 in Vian, Oklahoma. Mrs. James was a homemaker.

Survivors are two daughters, Rhonda White of Stilwell, OK and Janette James of Gore, OK; two sons, Rick James of Gore, OK and Roger James of Gore, OK; six grandchildren, Amanda Kioski of AR, Matt White of OH, Nathan White of OH, Kim Marriott of ID, Sharman Barnes and Jayson Hammick; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Couball and Linda Russell of Arkansas; one brother, Denny Houston of Vian, OK; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Louise Moss; and one grandson, Charles Pedro.

Pallbearers will be Denny Houston, BS McLemore, Al Annesley, Frankie McLemore, Kim Marriott and Alekanera Smith.

Viewing will be 1 – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
