Family Funeral Service for Reba Littlejohn Green, 99 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She will be laid to rest at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Reba was born on February 5, 1925 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Winnie Ruth (Palmer-Lake) Littlejohn and William James Littlejohn and passed away on June 30, 2024 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Gilbert Faulkner Green on March 30, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2020. 

Reba worked at Camp Roberts Army Base in California during World War II. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics and Business Education in 1950 and her Master's Degree in Business in 1955 from NSU in Tahlequah. She taught business courses at Sallisaw High School for 15 years and always considered her students her friends.

After her teaching career, Reba focused on Christian activities, education, charities, and community. She organized a book review club with four members 41 years ago and was the last surviving charter member. Reba devoted much of her time to community affairs, such as Sequoyah Memorial Hospital, Carl Albert Community College, an orphanage in Africa with HIV children and her church at First United Methodist Church where she taught Junior High Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in the summer. She was involved in funding missions to South Africa and Columbia and funding meals for orphanages for the entire year. She served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Finance Board, was involved in the building of a new sanctuary and was historian for the 150th anniversary. Reba was also a world traveler, but considered having her children as her greatest accomplishment.

Survivors are one son, Philip Marion Green of Sallisaw, OK; four grandchildren, Philip Riley Green of Oklahoma City, OK, Lori Stewart and Brandon of Edmond, OK, Tiffany James and Kyle of Vian, OK and Bronson Turman of Tulsa, OK; six great-grandchildren, Caelie, Hannah, Riley, Aiden, Max and Hunter; one sister, Patsy Shaffer of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, James Littlejohn of Sacramento, CA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert F. Green; one daughter, Terri Ruth Bass; her parents; and one brother, Charles Littlejohn.

Active Pallbearers will be Mark Green, Dr. Mike Mitchell, Dr. Sinclair Armstrong, Loyd Bradley Myers, Bill Wilson and Jerry Don Kibbe.

Viewing will be until 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home - 123 South Wheeler Avenue - Sallisaw, OK.
