Cremation Service for Olive Wofford, 70, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. Olive entered into her forever home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Olive was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma on April 29, 1955, to the late Audie and Gertrude McMurtry.
Olive retired from Klein Tools after many years of service.
As a child, Olive was comical, she made her siblings laugh at her antics. Olive brought so much joy and happiness to their lives which didn't change in adulthood.
On April 15, 1990, Olive married the love of her life, Bobby Wofford. Olive and Bobby had 35 years of a strong and loving marriage. Their love for each other will last through eternity. Love never dies. Olive had a wonderful life with Bobby.
When Olive was younger she raced in the powder puff derby at Tri State Speedway.
Olive loved to crotchet. Every year she crotched beautiful elves, dragons, and wizards, for her family for Christmas. Olive made many beautiful items.
If you had the pleasure of meeting Olive you knew what a kind, caring, and giving person she was. Olive helped a lot of people in her life even if it was just a kind word to a stranger in passing. Olive made cookies for her friends at the dialysis center. Olive helped co-workers out financially.
Olive and Bobby hosted a family dinner every Sunday at their home. Olive really enjoyed those family dinners.
Once a month Olive chauffeured her two sisters around on their sister days and never once did she give them a "bugged eye experience." Olive enjoyed those sister days, but what she enjoyed best was being with her husband, Bobby.
Olive is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Wofford, of the home; a son, Bobby Wofford, Jr. and Dee of Pocola, OK; two daughters, Steph Wofford Bainfford and April of Greenville, TX, and Channing Standridge and Trent of Van Buren, AR; six grandchildren, whom Olive loved fiercely, Anna Wofford of Fort Smith, AR, Mason and Keagan Huff of Brazil, IN, Chanson Henderson and Tyra of Van Buren, AR, Cody Ackerman and Michaela of Lavaca, AR, and Kaitlyn Ackerman of Van Buren, AR; three great-grandchildren, Tru Chambers of Fort Smith, AR, Stetson Walker of Van Buren, AR, and Nova Ackerman of Lavaca, AR; two sisters, Hazel Pollock of Bokoshe, OK, and Thursey Catlett and Neal of Hartford, AR; two brothers, Audie McMurtry of Stilwell, OK, and Carroll "Judge" McMurtry of Sallisaw, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Gertrude McMurtry; one brother, David McMurtry; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie McMurtry and Lena McMurtry; two nephews, Carroll McMurtry, Jr. and Michael Christopher Rogers.
Olive blessed our lives greatly. She had a strong faith in our heavenly father.
