Nora "Lavonne" Bernard

A funeral service will be held for Nora "Lavonne" Bernard, age 70, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Blackjack Cemetery.

Born on April 28, 1956, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Barbara Ann (York) Dodson and Fred Dodson, Jr., Nora passed away on July 24, 2026, in Fort Smith. She dedicated 16 years of her life to caring for others working at Dr. Cheek's office and was a member of the Eastside Holiness Church in Muldrow.

Nora's memory will be cherished by her cousin, Jennifer Welch, of Muldrow, OK; her nephew, Jonathan Firestine and Shelyne; her niece, LeAnn Generaux and Zach of Wynnewood, OK; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Jeremy Sutton; her brother, Fred Dodson, III; and her sister, Barbara Firestine.

Active pallbearers will include Brock, Brennan, and Blaison Firestine, Jonathan Firestine, and Zach and Lane Generaux.

Viewing will take place on Tuesday from 2 to 8 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, with family visitation from 6 to 8 PM.
