Nancy (Henshaw) Fuller

Memorial Service for Nancy Henshaw Fuller, 85, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, formerly of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

She was born on August 7, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Nan Elizabeth (Carlile) Henshaw and Aubrey J Henshaw, Sr. and passed away on November 26, 2023 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was married to Danny Ware Fuller, Sr. on April 11, 1958 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1999. Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Gore High School and received her BA Degree in Music Education in 1970 from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. In 1980, she received her Secondary Social Studies Certificate from NSU and Westark. She was a classroom teacher for 30 years, 15 years in Elementary and High School Vocal Music and 15 years in High School Social Studies. She taught at Blackwell High School in Blackwell, OK 1970-1972, Central Junior High School in Broken Arrow, OK 1972 -1975 and Central Public Schools near Sallisaw 1975 – 2000. Nancy served as organist, pianist and choir director at First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw 1975-2005 and was a staff writer for Sequoyah County Times 2000-2005. From 2005 to the present, she served as Certified Moderator for Oklahoma Junior Academic Bowl Association and pianist for First Presbyterian Church in Tahlequah, OK. Nancy was a member of SCEA, CCREA, OEA, NEA, Democratic Women and Oklahoma Council for Social Studies.

Survivors are two daughters, Lisa Fine and Daniel of Reno, NV and Allison Bigheart of Tahlequah, OK; two sons, Danny Fuller, Jr. and Lois of Tahlequah, OK and David Fuller and Sheila of Tahlequah, OK; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Henshaw of Tahlequah, OK and Ginny Wilson of Tahlequah, OK; two brothers, A.J. Henshaw and Christine of Sallisaw, OK and Ed Henshaw and Gwen of Gore, OK; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Tommy Henshaw.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
