Myra Jean Davis, a devoted woman of faith, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1943, in Topeka, Kansas, and lived a life rooted in love, service, and unwavering devotion to God.
Myra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Davis, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Davis. Though their absence was deeply felt, Myra carried their memory in her heart every day.
She is lovingly survived by her son, John Davis, and daughter-in-law, Mona Davis; her daughter, Sheryl Atoigue, and son-in-law, Thomas Atoigue. She was a proud grandmother to Josh Kountz and Jessica Geagon, and a cherished great-grandmother to Connor, Sterling, and Cooper, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Myra dedicated her life to caring for others. As a homemaker, child care provider, and bookkeeper, she served her family and community with humility and grace. She also gave generously of her time, volunteering during elections and supporting her community through the Blackgum Volunteer Fire Department.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Myra was a longtime and faithful member of Blackgum Harvestime Church. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life—with kindness, compassion, and a servant’s heart. She found strength in her faith and shared that light with everyone around her.
Myra Jean Davis leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
