Mary E. (Brewer) Sallee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary E. (Brewer) Sallee, age 88, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mary departed this life on December 27, 2025, in Lindale, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Mary was born on July 28, 1937, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Vena Irene (Ogden) Brewer and James Ira Brewer. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, she found great joy in the company of her children and grandchildren. Known for her sharp wit and delightful sense of humor, she will be fondly remembered for her famous homemade chocolate gravy, which brought smiles to many.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tammy Briggs of Shirley, AR; three sons, Jimmy Sallee and Carla of Tyler, TX, Ronny Sallee and Shari of Tyler, TX, and Billy Sallee and Donna of Longview, TX; one sister, Thelma Copeland of Sallisaw, OK; as well as 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Sallee; and two grandchildren.

A funeral service honoring Mary's life will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Brushy Cemetery, with arrangements entrusted to Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. 

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Friends may pay their respects from noon to 8 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, where the family will receive guests from 6 to 8 PM.

Mary's warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
