Cremation Service for Mary Marline (Miles) Smallwood Brooks, 83, of Gore, Oklahoma is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mary Marline (Miles) Smallwood Brooks was born December 17, 1940, in Independence, Kansas to Percy Lee and Glynne Mae (Smith) Miles. She married Richard Smallwood, Jr. on June 11, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After his death in 1997, she married Milton Dale Brooks on September 26, 2003, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mary passed from this life on April 18, 2024, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker until her daughters were in high school, then worked many years as the Braggs City Clerk. She also worked at Bush's Cafe and Greenleaf State Park Cafe in Braggs, Oklahoma and at Fin 'N Feather Resort in Gore, Oklahoma. Mary was the best pie maker and enjoyed crocheting and reading in her free time. Additionally, she spent time taking care of her granddaughters, Meghan and Charla, and babysitting Kimberly and Nicole Hughart, who were "bonus" granddaughters. Later in life she was brought immense joy spending time with her great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Richard and Milton; her parents; and several siblings.

Survivors are daughters, Marline Smallwood-Moreno and husband J. R. and Jillian Beth Gates and husband Will of Gore, OK; granddaughters, Meghan Briscoe and husband Jody of Tulsa, OK, Charla Slape of Gore, OK, and Lindsey Liebelt of Sacramento, CA; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Maddy, Conway, and Emmerson; sisters, Glenna Todd and LaDonna Smith; sisters-in-law, Virginia Clark and Betty Smallwood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mary's request for no funeral service is being honored by her family. A private burial will be in Gore Cemetery, Gore, OK.
