Lorene Johnson

Lorene Johnson, age 78, of Bunch, Oklahoma, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Born on October 31, 1947, in Tahlequah to George and Mary (Rogers) Johnson, Lorene was a treasured member of her community and family.

A devoted follower of the Lord, Lorene found joy in attending church and sharing her faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her family. Known for her kindness, she welcomed everyone with open arms and her infectious smile, hugs, and laughter brightened the lives of those around her. She loved listening to gospel music and reading the Bible.

Lorene is survived by her three sons, Spunk Johnson and Tina Girty of Vian, OK, Earl Johnson and Keisha of Colcord, OK, and Stephen Johnson of Bunch, OK. She is also survived by two grandsons, Earvin Johnson of Vian, OK, and Brent Johnson and Rachelle of Marble City, OK; three granddaughters, Stacy Squirrel and Robert, Brittany Johnson, and Shaniah Vann, all of Stilwell, OK; one sister, Anna Needham of Pocola, OK; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three beloved daughters—Rebecca Johnson, Jerrie Vann, and Stephanie Johnson—and an infant grandson.

A funeral service honoring Lorene will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Bunch Assembly of God Church in Bunch, Oklahoma, followed by burial at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma. The service will be conducted under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Viewing will take place at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK, from 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday, with the family greeting visitors from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Active pallbearers will include Brent Johnson, Earvin "G-Man" Johnson, Son Bolin, Eric Sawney, Charlie Stilwell, Chip Cochran, Mouse Chewey, and Joe Cheater.

Lorene Johnson’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
