Gans, Oklahoma

Linda Susan Brown, 64, of Gans, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Born on April 23, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to Billy Don Brown and Marion Marie (Dettmer) Brown, Linda lived a life defined by determination, adventure, generosity, and an unwavering love for the people around her.

Linda spent her early years in Illinois before her family moved to Gans in 1975. At just 16 years old, she set out to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Music remained one of her greatest passions throughout her life, and she performed with several bands over the years, including Wild Turkey, Looney Tunes, and Discovery.

Later, Linda built a career as an optician, where she found joy in helping others through her work. She also loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and Walt Disney World. One of her favorite memories was appearing as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune in the 1990s.

Above all, Linda's faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and found strength, peace, and hope in her relationship with Him throughout every season of life.

Linda will be remembered not only for the places she traveled or the dreams she pursued, but for the kindness, warmth, and generosity she shared so freely. Her infectious smile, caring heart, and adventurous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they made together. She will be deeply loved, profoundly missed, and never forgotten.

Linda is survived by her brother, Darrell Brown, and his wife, Sherry, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her aunt, Melba Arterburn, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her nieces and their husbands, Ericka and Travis Beam of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Olivia and Joshua Garr of Fort Smith, Arkansas; as well as many cousins and dear friends.
