Lillian "Usti" Denny

Funeral Service for Lillian "Usti" Denny, age 91, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Nicut, Oklahoma. Following the service, burial will take place at Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Lillian was born on June 8, 1935, in Nicut, Oklahoma, to Lila (Daugherty) Soap and Israel Eagle. She passed away on June 13, 2026, in Muldrow, Oklahoma. On July 3, 1960, she married Edwin "Sonny" Denny in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Mr. Denny preceded her in death on May 27, 2004.

Lillian dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a home health caregiver and provider. She was a proud First Speaker of the Cherokee Language, carrying on and preserving an important part of her Cherokee heritage and culture. She was a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Elara Caring, especially Shirley Qualls and Brittany Sevenstar, for their compassionate care.

She is survived by three sons: Wayne Denny of Nicut, Oklahoma, Paul Denny and Maria of Nicut, Oklahoma, and John Israel Denny and Lorie of Muldrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Deb Nichols and Terry of Liberty, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Jason Bush of Nicut, Oklahoma, Julie Bush of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Courtney Denny of Nicut, Oklahoma, Ashley Lewis of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and Josh Denny of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and 14 great-grandchildren: Trevor Brown, Maiciee Hallman, Ian Doss, Emily Doss, Remington Denny, Asher Southern, Barrytt-Jaxson Southern, Tanner Williamson, Tristyn Thompson, Konner Lewis, Jaycee Hallum, Maddyx Hallum, Kooper Lewis, and Ethan Yarrbro. She was also blessed with numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Lillian is also survived by her sister, Maggie Miller of Roland, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Johnny Lee Soap and Levi Eagle, both of Nicut, Oklahoma; along with many other relatives and friends who cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Sonny" Denny; one son, Danny Bush; one granddaughter, Jackie Bush; two grandsons, Landon Nichols and Blake Wagner; three sisters, Evelyn Bush, Ruth Sevenstar, and Odie Dick; and one brother, John Archer Rogers.

Active Pallbearers will be Jason Bush, Remington Denny, Asher Southern, Barrytt-Jaxson Southern, Josh Denny, and Konner Lewis.

Visitation will be held from Noon to 8 PM on Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 PM.

Lillian "Usti" Denny’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and service to her family and community. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
