Leta Snow, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on May 25th in Savannah, Georgia, while traveling with her sons. Born on October 1, 1957, Leta was raised on a farm alongside the Arkansas River outside of Vian, Oklahoma, where she developed the resilience and humility that would define her life.
A beloved member of the Vian community, Leta graduated from Vian High School in 1975. During her high school years, her magnetic spirit and grace were recognized by her peers when she was crowned Band Queen during her sophomore year and Yearbook Queen her senior year.
Leta dedicated her professional life to the calling of nursing, serving patients with a level of empathy that went far beyond clinical care. She was a passionate advocate for meaningful, one-on-one patient interaction and eventually specialized in elderly care, where she dedicated her heart to protecting those most vulnerable.
In her retirement, Leta embraced her passion for world travel, exploring the Caribbean and numerous European countries. She was known for her incredible sense of style, particularly her cherished hats, her enduring love for her dogs, and the simple joy of reconnecting with lifelong friends.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents Williard and Frankie Snow and her husband, Melcher Garcia Sr. Leta is survived by her two sons, Mel Jr. and Jordan Garcia and her beloved brothers David and Dale Snow, of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
A social for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 13th from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Wheeler Event Center. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local animal rescue center in honor and tribute of Leta.
The family asks that friends dress in the unique and vibrant colors that would be fitting for Leta's precious personality.
