Funeral Service for Laura Ann (Richardson) Young, 85, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma with Rev. Isaac Slape officiating. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Laura Ann (Richardson) Young was born November 23, 1940, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to William Luther and Ora (Shaw) Richardson. She grew up in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where she graduated High school in 1959. She briefly moved to Tulsa, and worked at Hillcrest until she returned to Sallisaw and married Raymond William Young on December 5, 1964. Laura worked over the years selling Avon, Amway and Stanley products. Along with Raymond they delivered the Sequoyah County Times newspaper and the Southwest Times all over Sequoyah County for over 36 years. She attended various Baptist churches in Sallisaw over the years and was an active member of the Sallisaw Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary. She lived in Sallisaw for almost 78 years before moving to Muldrow with her son. She passed away on August 24, 2026 at home in Muldrow under hospice care.
Her hobbies were playing Yahtzee, Dominoes and Yahoo Marbles along with working jigsaw puzzles which were displayed all over the walls of her current house, along with donating multiple puzzles to the nursing home where she had done rehab, as well as anyone that wanted a completed one.
Laura is survived by her sons, William "Bill" Charles Young of Muldrow and Robert "Bob" Allen Young and wife Kristin of Checotah, OK; three grandchildren, Kasey Crain and husband Alec of Tahlequah, OK, Derek Young of Stillwater, OK, and Jacilynn Young of Roland, OK; two great-grandchildren, Adelina Crain and Luna RayLee Young; her dear friends, Jim Merritt and Didi Alexander along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Raymond; parents; sister, Barbara Inadelle Wilson; and brothers, William L. Richardson and Jimmy Richardson.

Active Pallbearers will be Jim Merritt, Derek Young, Wes Riddle, Alec Crain, Kyle Reed, Thomas Tankersley and Nelson Alexander.
Viewing will be noon - 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow where the family will greet 5 - 7 PM Thursday.
