Kelly Michelle Waters, 55, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on July 27, 2025. Born on February 2, 1970, in Long Beach, California, Kelly brought light and laughter wherever she went. Known for her fun-loving spirit, spunky personality, and positive outlook on life, she made a lasting impression on everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
Kelly graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1988 and went on to earn her associate degree from Connors State College. She had a career as a licensed insurance agent in Paris, Texas. Kelly was of the Baptist faith.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Malyn Rogers and Preston Waters and wife Shalen; her mother, Jena Rogers and fiance Clinton Johnson; her sister, Kimberly Brown and husband Gary; her nephew, Tristan Brown; her niece, Kira Brown; and many other family and friends whose lives she touched. Kelly’s family meant the world to her, and she embraced every role with unwavering love and joy.
Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, David Waters, and her father, Jerry Rogers.
In keeping with her generous and selfless spirit, Kelly chose to donate her body to Genesis | Medical Education and Research Institute (MERI). This noble decision is considered one of the greatest gifts a person can leave behind. Her contribution will help medical professionals improve treatment outcomes, advance research, and ultimately save lives—positively impacting the health and well-being of thousands of people around the world.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Sallisaw Cemetery gazebo to honor and celebrate Kelly’s life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nursing staff at Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home and Elara Caring Hospice team for the kindness, care, and dignity they provided to Kelly during her time there. The support and compassion they gave her will never be forgotten.
