Funeral Service for Katherine P. Smith, 76 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on August 17, 1948 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Eula (Davis) Poindexter and Levi Poindexter and passed away on July 5, 2024 in Vian, Oklahoma. She was married to E.W. Smith. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2019. Mrs. Smith was a home health care provider and enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.

Survivors are one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Blair and Rick of Roland, OK; four sons, Larry Wayne Smith and Kathleen of Stillwater, OK, Gary Duane Smith and Jennifer of Sallisaw, OK, Douglas Andrew Smith and Kristi of Van Buren, AR and Daniel Adam Smith and Angela of Vian, OK; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; mother, Eula Poindexter of Sallisaw, OK; six sisters, Beulah Green of Vian, OK, Aline Woodard of Sallisaw, OK, Mary Lou Gibbony of Muldrow, OK, Lynn Lockhart of Sallisaw, OK, Sherrie Thomas of Rogers, AR and Jennie Scott of Oregon; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leatha Wolf and Rena Renfro and three brothers, Rayburn, Ira and Alton Poindexter.

Active Pallbearers will be her children. 

Viewing will be 10 am - 8 pm Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 - 8 pm.
