JoeAnn (Smith) Waters

Memorial Service for JoeAnn (Smith) Waters, 85, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

She was born on October 28, 1939 in Braden Bottoms community, Oklahoma to Doska (Jackson) Smith and Joseph Kelley Smith and passed away on September 5, 2025 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Howard Verlin Waters on March 27, 1956 in Phoenix, AZ. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2014. Mrs. Waters graduated high school in Mill Valley, California and was a homemaker. Family was her life.

Survivors are three daughters, Sheila Moody and Wayne of Sallisaw, OK, Linda Thomas and Marvin of Pocola, OK and Sharlatte Sanders and Victor of O'Fallon, MO; two sons, Steven Waters and Christine of Yukon, OK and Boyd Waters and Sommer of Sallisaw, OK; 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Bradley, Staci, Steven, Sean, Joseph, Nita, Shane, Derek and Bethany; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Williams of Petaluma, CA and Patty Flocchini and Andrew of Petaluma, CA; one brother, Gary Smith and Linda of Squaw Valley, CA; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Opal Serio and two brothers, Thomas James Smith and Herbert Ray Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
