Joe Ward

Joe Ward, 68, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on September 8, 1957, to Gladys Loretta (Lacey) Ward and Billy Gene Ward. Joe worked as a carpenter, contributing his skills and craftsmanship to many projects throughout his life.

He is survived by four sons: Christopher Joseph of Sallisaw, OK, Noah Blake Ward of Muldrow, OK, Michael Joe Ward of Springfield, MO, and Riley Joe Ward of Conroe, TX. Joe also leaves behind three daughters: Carolyn Leanna Riggs of Fort Smith, AR, Kiona Marie Ward of Springfield, MO, and Becca Jo Ward of Springfield, MO; and several grandchildren.

Joe is also survived by two brothers, Bob Ward of Vian, OK, and Terry Ward of Sallisaw, OK; along with two sisters, Lynda Ward and Loretta Bean, both of Marble City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Billie Kramer; and one brother, Tim Ward.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Following the service, burial will take place at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active pallbearers honoring Joe's legacy will be his sons and nephews: Christopher Michael Ward, Noah Blake Ward, Michael Joe Ward, Riley Joe Ward, and grandsons Hayden Ward and Landon Ward.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during viewing hours from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 2 PM to 8 PM on Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.

Joe Ward will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His strength, kindness, and dedication to family will leave a lasting impact on those he loved.
