Jimmy Curry

Graveside Service for Jimmy “AJ” Curry, 88 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Drakestand Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 2, 1935 in Vian, Oklahoma to Ida P. (Long) Curry and John Raymond Curry and passed away on November 29, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Barbara Jean (McClendon) Curry on February 8, 1974 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2013. Mr. Curry was a professional truck driver for 50 years. He loved to play golf, take care of his lawn and play cards.

Survivors are three daughters, Lisa McInerney and Mike of Sallisaw, OK, Sherry Curry and Tony Renfro of Sallisaw, OK and Patty McHenry and Billy of Sallisaw, OK; one son, Donny Curry and Clarissa of Sallisaw, OK; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Mae McClure and Connie of Sallisaw and Florence Ann Thomas and Herbert of Sallisaw, OK; one brother, Roy Curry and Hope of Yukon, OK; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Cindy Henning; son, Jimbo Curry; his parents; two sisters, Maggie Lockhart and Eva Jean Lowe and three brothers, Raymond Curry, Thomas Curry and PeeWee Curry.

Pallbearers will be Billy McHenry, Ty McHenry, Mike McInerney, Tony Renfro, Jamie Robertson, Steffan Christie and Colter Curry.

Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6-8 pm.
