Jim Sparks, 84 of Gore, Oklahoma was born on April 23, 1942, in Gore, Oklahoma, to June Dorothy (Lee) Sparks and Hooley Sparks. He peacefully passed away on May 2, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A dedicated healthcare consultant and U.S. Air Force veteran, Jim was passionate about woodworking and restoring automobiles, particularly GMCs. His workshop was a cherished sanctuary where he found peace and fulfillment.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynne; his daughter, Kerrie Sparks of Dallas, Texas; his son, Steve Broom and Laura of Azle, Texas; his sister, Linda Morgan of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; his brother, Dexter Sparks of Tontitown, Arkansas; along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends, including the Scott family from Pittsburg, KS whom were very special to Jim.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jeanne (Hodges) Sparks; his sister, Joyce Sparks; and two sons, Chris and Robert Broom.
Family and friends are welcome to visit from noon to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, with the family greeting visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The family appreciates the support and condolences offered during this time of remembrance.
A funeral service to honor Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Peters Cemetery in Sallisaw. A meal will be provided afterward at the Homeplace at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, and those wishing to bring food are warmly welcomed.
