Jim Sparks

Jim Sparks, 84 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was born on April 23, 1942, in Gore, Oklahoma, to June (Corley) Sparks and Hooley Sparks. He peacefully passed away on May 2, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A dedicated healthcare consultant and U.S. Air Force veteran, Jim was passionate about woodworking and restoring automobiles, particularly GMCs. His workshop was a cherished sanctuary where he found peace and fulfillment. Jim was formerly of the Primitive Baptist faith then attended the Church of God, a Worldwide Association.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynne and her children Brian Pohl and Becky Dillingham, and grandchildren Krista Florence and Kyle Dillingham and their families; his daughter, Kerrie Sparks of Dallas, Texas; his son, Steve Broom, wife Laura and their children Jessica, Jayme and Skylar of Azle, Texas; his sister, Linda Morgan and her children Carl Lamb, Janie Johnson and Bobi Sutton, all of Sallisaw; his brother, Dexter and Charla Sparks and their children Brandon and Cristen Sparks of Tonitown; and the children of his late sister, Joyce Sparks, Connie Fermhem of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Danny Franks of Emmett, Kansas; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends, including the Scott family from Pittsburg, KS whom were very special to Jim.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jeanne (Hodges) Sparks; his sister, Joyce Sparks and her daughter, Jody Sparks; and two sons, Chris and Robert Broom; and his granddog, Frankie Sparks, whom he adored.

Family and friends are welcome to visit from noon to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, with the family greeting visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The family appreciates the support and condolences offered during this time of remembrance.

A funeral service to honor Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Peters Cemetery in Sallisaw. A meal will be provided afterward at the Homeplace at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, and those wishing to bring food are warmly welcomed.
