Jerry Wayne Prewett, aged 75, of the Nicut community in Oklahoma, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 2, 1950, in Van Buren Arkansas, to Virginia Dean (Seabolt) Prewett and Herman Preston "Joe" Prewett.

Jerry dedicated his life to his family and community. He married Cathy (Emberton) Prewett on August 25, 1967, at Mineral Springs Church near Muldrow, Oklahoma. A devoted rancher and farmer, Jerry also enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at Baldor, where he worked for 45 years. His passions included attending ballgames, especially to support his grandson Braden, and working on his beloved farm with his cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy of the home; two daughters, Angela Gleason of Nicut community, OK and Alyson Prewett of Nicut community, OK; grandsons, Garrett Gleason of Nicut community, OK, Braden Gleason and Brinley of Emporia, KS; mother, Virginia Prewett of Nicut community, OK; one sister, Joetta Hyde and Mike of Nicut community, OK; brother-in-law, Lyndon Emberton and Gaylene of Nicut community, OK; sister-in-law, Carolyn McKinney and Mike of Roland, OK; niece, Dara Tyler of Muldrow, OK; nephews, Dax Tyler and Kayla of Nicut community, OK; Aaron Emberton and Carrie of Tahlequah, OK and Matthew McKinney of Roland, OK; great nieces, Savvy Jo Tyler, Elizabeth and Ella Emberton; and numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father; sister, Jan Prewett; son-in-law, Johnny Gleason; and mother and father in law, Eugene and Faye Emberton.

A funeral service will be held in his honor at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Seabolt Cemetery in the Nicut community, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active pallbearers will include Garrett Gleason, Braden Gleason, Dax Tyler, Greg Prewett, Michael Prewett, Bobby Dale Prewett, Johnny Dale Prewett, and Kenny Prewett. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Vest, Bob Anglen, Bryce Hobbs, Roger Belt, Donny Ales, Glen Woody, his coworkers at Baldor, and friends from the Community Building Old Man Group.

Viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, with a visitation from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Jerry Wayne Prewett's legacy will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
