Jeffery Scott “Jeff” Cain was born on June 24, 1966, in Missouri and passed away on July 13, 2026, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, at the age of 60.
Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm, a service he carried with pride throughout his life.
Following his military service, Jeff built a successful career in the automotive industry. Over the years, he worked his way into management, earning the respect of his coworkers, employees, customers, and friends. His leadership, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on those who knew him. After returning to Sallisaw, Jeff worked alongside his godfather installing windows, continuing to do what he did best—working with his hands and taking pride in a job well done. One of the greatest blessings in Jeff’s life was the relationship he shared with his godfather, Clifton Fairchild. Cliff was much more than a godfather—he was the father Jeff looked up to, his mentor, and his best friend. The bond they shared was built on love, trust, laughter, and unwavering support, and it remained one of the most meaningful relationships of Jeff’s life.
Anyone who knew Jeff knew how much he loved his Harley-Davidson. There was nothing quite like the freedom of the open road, and some of his happiest moments were spent riding. He loved good music—especially Metallica—was a devoted Denver Broncos fan, enjoyed cheering on the Denver Nuggets, and always rooted for the Oklahoma Sooners. He enjoyed spending time at the VFW where he was a lifetime member and Quarter Master, sharing stories with friends, and always had a joke ready to make someone laugh. His adventurous spirit, quick wit, and loyal heart will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cain; his children, Zachary Cain and Wife Lori, Paige Ammons and wife Deserea, and Lace Ammons; and his grandchildren, Logan, Zain, Isaiah, Maddison, Terra. Ayden, Lakota, and Cyrus,
Jeff will also be deeply missed by Amanda Hess, Destiny, Garrett, and Evie who were an important part of his life.
He is also survived by his stepfather, Gene Simmons; his godmother, Denise Fairchild who loved Jeff as her own and remained a treasured part of his life; his brother, Bobby Cain and wife Carla; his sisters, Susan Castillo and husband Ruben, Vanessa Stockmar and Jimmie Whorton and husband Coy; his lifelong friends who were like brothers, Rudy Hick and Shawn Hays; his special friend, Homer Jones; special nephew Keith McDaniel and wife Miranda; his special great-nephew, Mikey Salls; along with his niece, Lindsy; nephews Colby and Danny; along with many cousins, fellow veterans, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Simmons; his daughter, Tanis Cain; his brother, Lee Cain; his father figure and godfather, Clifton Fairchild; his beloved nephew, Mike Salls, who held a special place in Jeff’s heart like a son; and his beloved dog, Harley, his faithful companion and best friend.
Jeff’s life was defined by his service, his laughter, his loyalty, and the relationships he treasured. Whether he was helping someone in need, riding his Harley, cheering on the Broncos, listening to Metallica, telling a joke, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Jeff left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the many lives he touched.
