James Weldon Roberts

Graveside Service for James Weldon Roberts, 80, of Blackgum, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at White Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on May 25, 1943 in Coolidge, Arizona to Fannie Louise (Jackson) Roberts and Elbern Oren Roberts and passed away on September 19, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Evelyn (Byrum) Roberts on December 22, 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2013. He was a painter, a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are one son, Evan Roberts and Timberly of Blackgum, OK; five daughters, Brenda Roberts of Coolidge, AZ, Beverly Wooten of Bellville, AR, Carolyn Pule and Chad of Oahu, HI, Amber Roberts of Sallisaw, OK and Linda Goswick and Russell of Blackgum, OK; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several other siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and parents.

Active Pallbearers will be Russell Goswick, Derrick Fieldgrove, Steve Radford, John Carter, David Clayton and Joshua M. Pack.
