Howard Wayne Watts

Funeral Service for Howard Wayne Watts, 75, of Roland, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on May 4, 1949 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Lois Betty (Akins) Watts and Howard Thomas Watts and passed away on May 31, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was married to Barbara Anne (Petty) Watts.  She preceded him in death on November 6, 2018.  He was a retired school teacher and bus driver. He taught for 30 years and received the National Teach of the Year Award. He was a former Mayor for the Town of Roland and of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors are grandson, Dillon Watts; two sisters, Sharon Mason of Roland, OK and Carol Woods of Huntington, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother, Alvin Ramer.

Active Pallbearers will be Steve Wilson, Ronnie Mackey, Leslie Barrow, Larry Tate, Gerald Harvell and Vernon Davis. 

Viewing will be 10 AM - 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
