Funeral Service for Hilda "Christene" (Fisher) Talbot, 90, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at First Christian Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Chris was born on September 27, 1935, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Charles and Pearlie Fisher and passed away peacefully, in her home, on Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by love. She married in 1954 to Raymond McCalment and lived the life of an Air Force wife, moving to Illinois, Texas, Mississippi, the Philippines, Arkansas, and finally Tulsa. She worked as a nurse for 45 years, a rewarding career that she loved. She re-married in 2001 to William "Wild Bill" Talbot, who she had met at Tulsa Drillers Baseball games. In 2003, she returned to the Sallisaw area to her remodeled family home in Akins. She became an active member of the First Christian Church, worked for the County Election Board, member of the Old Sallisaw High School Association, secretary for the Historical Society, and a member of the County Home Extension Club.
She is survived by her children, Carrie Bowman, Cheryl McCalment, Rhonda Rector, and Russell McCalment; seven grandchildren, Angie Dance, Jeff Bowman, Tina Avery, Bobby Blewett, Eric Conner, Lauren McCalment, and Madison Rector; nine great-grandchildren, Michelle Lewis, Heaven Lewis, Logan Dance, James Bowman, Kylie Dance, Jacob Blewett, Myca Sanderson, Olivia Sanderson, and Allie Blewett; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearlie Fisher, ten brothers and sisters, and Bill Talbot.
Viewing will be Noon - 8 PM Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
Chris was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, and aunt. She lived a long, full life inspiring many. She was a true and faithful servant whose work on earth is done.
