He was born on May 31, 1929 in Chouteau, Oklahoma to Alma (Marshall) Johnson and Benjamin Louis Johnson and passed away on June 1, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Reatha (Lenning) Johnson on February 12, 1953 in Woodlake, California. He was a machinist at an electronic plant and a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors are:

wife, Reatha of the home;

1 daughter, Kim Shepherd of Muldrow, OK;

2 sons, Glen Richard Johnson of Visalia, CA and Edward Louis Johnson of Vian, OK;

numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;

and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers.
