Galelia (Stealer) Harris

Funeral services for Galelia (Stealer) Harris, age 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Blunt Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma, under the care of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Galelia was born on January 22, 1943, in Flute Springs, Oklahoma, to Samantha (Bird) Stealer and William Angel Stealer. She passed away on May 4, 2026, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Curtis Dwain Harris in 1963 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Galelia dedicated 29 and a half years working for Facet International and also served as a provider for professional home health. She had a passion for quilting, gardening, tending to flowers, and caring deeply for her friends and family. A hard worker throughout her life, she was known for her love of family, friends, church members, and for spreading God's love to all. Galelia was a first language Cherokee speaker.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert Harris; her grandson, Sheldon Harris; her sister, Allene Teehee; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Galelia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and six siblings: George Steeley, Ruby Ross, Raymond Stealer, Wanda Pigeon, Irene Cochran, and Mack Stealer.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Steeley, Tim Pigeon, Martin Cochran, Tyler Pigeon, Koda Pigeon, and Lawrence Steeler. Honorary pallbearers include Kent Teehee, Brandon Caughman, Mark Steeley, and Marcus Wright, Jr.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
