Funeral Service for Freeman Turner Miller, 101 of Republic, Missouri, formerly of Stigler, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Miller was born on February 22, 1923 in Stigler, Oklahoma to William P. (Bud) and Minnie Maude (Gregg) Miller. He passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on March 16, 2024 at the age of 101 years.

He married Eldee Ford on July 10, 1954 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. They were married almost 69 years before her passing in July 2023. They had one daughter Kathy Ruth Miller, born in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1957.

Freeman spent many years farming in Oklahoma and Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium where he received a Purple Heart after being wounded in action. Following the war he worked as a salesman for GoodYear and Sears selling appliances, automotive and farm equipment. He was a member of Muskogee First Baptist Church, the Muskogee Christian Businessmen's Association and the Muskogee CB Radio Club. Freeman was also a member of the McAlester Scottish Rite as a 32nd degree Mason in Oriental Lodge 430, the Muskogee Bedouin Shriners, and the VFW Post 474.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.P. and Maude Miller; his wife, Eldee Miller; sisters, Addie Casey, Zelda Cates, Ozie Cates and Ethel Brown; brother, Rollan Miller; and daughters, Martha Barnett and Betty Ann Dixon.

Freeman is survived by his daughter, Kathy Jackson and husband David, of Republic, Missouri; granddaughter, Traci Lynn Pritchard and husband Devin; great-grandsons, Henry and Jonathan Pritchard all of Rogersville, Missouri.

He is also survived by daughter, Mary Jewell of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Jeff Dixon of Sheridan, Indiana, Brad Dixon of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Bart Crowder of Southlake, Texas, Barry Crowder of Dallas, Texas, Dustin Jewell of Whitehouse, Tennessee, Craig Benham of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Marty Benham of Moore, Oklahoma, and Ami Whitley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers will be Devin Pritchard, Cana Hall, Jack Beal Jr., Craig Benham, Marty Benham, and Kurt Stephens . 

Viewing will be 10 am - 8 pm Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
