Funeral Service for Freddy "Derf" Chambers, 72, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church (1 mile East of I-40 on Hwy 64), 108723 South 4650 Road, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Viewing will be from Noon to 8:00 PM on Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Freddy was born on June 29, 1954, in Trumann, Arkansas, to Pearl Ellen (Lowery) Chambers and Everett Hartsell Chambers. He passed away on August 31, 2026, in Muldrow, Oklahoma.
On June 22, 1973, Freddy married Imogene "Jean" (Beakley) Chambers in Harrisburg, Arkansas, and together they shared more than 53 years of marriage. Freddy worked as a hydraulic technician and was also a proud business owner. He was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church and was proudly baptized on September 22, 2024. He was a man of many interests and talents who enjoyed playing music, especially the guitar and piano, as well as singing. An outdoorsman at heart, Freddy enjoyed collecting guns, spending time outdoors, and working in his garden. He also enjoyed smoking meat and barbecuing for his family. Above all, he loved spending time with those he loved, and time shared with his family was especially important to him.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Chambers; one daughter, Nikki (Chambers) Gann and Bryan; three sons, Shawn Chambers and Vickie, Rodney Chambers and LaDonna, and Toby Chambers and Kaylee; 17 grandchildren, Taylan, Kanyon, Jonyn, Brennen, Greyson, Ruby, Kai-Lee and Will, Kenzee, Garrett and Elizabeth, April, Terry, Johnathan, Ethan, Bryce, Macy, Connor, and Emma; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; as well as a trusted friend, Manuel Cabrera and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Kenneth Chambers.
Active Pallbearers will be Toby Chambers, Taylan Chambers, Kanyon Chambers, Garrett Asbill, Will Moore, and Randell Conley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Manuel Cabrera, Justin Chambers, Kenny Roumillat, Ethan Chambers, and Bryce Smith.
