Evelyn Kay Cheater Hardbarger

Funeral Service for Evelyn Kay (Cheater) Hardbarger, 72, of Marble City, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Evelyn was born on November 10, 1953, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Katie (Hooper) Cheater and Jack Cheater. She passed away on November 1, 2026, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was married to Lewis "Wolfie" Hardbarger, who preceded her in death. Evelyn was of the Christian faith and worked as a caregiver, dedicating her time to helping and caring for others. Her caring nature was reflected in the work she did, and she will be lovingly remembered by her family and those who knew her.

Survivors are one daughter, Dewanna Cheater of Marble City, OK; four sons, Joshua Blackbird of Tahlequah, OK, Jeremy Cheater and Brooke Anderson of Wisconsin, Eli Blackbird, Jr. and Josephine Barbosa of Marble City, OK, and Brandon Blackbird and Brittany Hotella of Marble City, OK; eight grandchildren, Katie Blackbird, Trenton Blackbird, Kiley Jo Cheater, Jordan "Bubba" Cheater, Trinity Blackbird, Bluejay Catron, Dawsyn Martin, and Sunnee Blackbird; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Robbins, Calianna Heck, and Destiny Heck; one brother, George Cheater of Sallisaw, OK; two sisters, Shirley Cheater of Tahlequah, OK, and Sheila Blackbird of Vian, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis "Wolfie" Hardbarger; one daughter, Natasha Kay Hardbarger; her parents; three brothers, Joe Cheater, Johnny Cheater, and Jack Cheater; and two sisters, Betsy Cheater and Edna Cheater.

Active Pallbearers will be Mackie Cheater, Cody Pritchett, Robert Locust, Shawn Sinclair, Deronie Cheater, and Jeff Cheater.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Arias, Dennis Robbins, Jr., Dylan Heck, David Allen Copeland, Octavian Riley, and Ocona Riley.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
