It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Taylor, age 65, of the Bellefonte community in Oklahoma. Elsie peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 8, 2026 in Bellefonte, Oklahoma.

Born on May 23, 1961, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Lorene (Sevenstar) Taylor and Bennie Lee Taylor. Elsie, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Elsie's love and compassion for her family was immense. She cherished every living moment with family by taking lots of photos. She was a loving grandmother to Lucy and enjoyed spending a lot of time with her. Elsie was also very proud of Lucy for all of her accomplishments. She loved her family so much that if they needed help she'd do her best to help them out. She loved to visit with everyone even if it was just for a minute. She will be dearly missed by everyone.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Natalie Lucille Taylor of Muldrow, OK; five sisters, Carolyn Byers and Eddie of Gans, OK, and Irene Taylor, Betty Taylor-Raney, and Sandra Soap and Jimmy Dale, all of Bellefonte community, OK, and Loretta Barrios and Efrain of Fort Smith, AR. She also leaves behind two brothers, Justin Taylor and Mark Allen Taylor, both of Bellefonte community, OK. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, one aunt, three uncles, and many friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Monroe Taylor; one sister, Joann Taylor; two nieces, Shilah Carrillo and Reya Shi Carillo-Watie; one nephew, Baby Raney; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Raney.

Funeral Service for Elsie Taylor will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Bellefonte Baptist Church in Nicut, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Cemetery in Nicut, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active Pallbearers will be Keith Mathews, Andrew Dayne Mathews, Greg Mathews, Eugene Wood, Dustin Taylor, and Anthony Spoon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Alec Locust, Aaron Sevenstar, and Columbus Sevenstar.

Wake will start at Noon on Thursday at the church in Nicut, Oklahoma.

Elsie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her love and spirit will live on through her family and friends.
