Edna Earl (Slater) Reves

Edna Earl (Slater) Reves, age 89, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on July 4, 2025. A beloved member of her community, Edna’s life will be celebrated during her funeral service, which will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She will be laid to rest at Sallisaw City Cemetery, with arrangements handled by Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Born on January 12, 1936, in Price's Chapel Community, Oklahoma, Edna was the daughter of Avis Earl (Cowling) Slater and Charles W. Slater. She grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and on May 17, 1957, she married her husband, Bobby O'Neal Reves, in Roswell, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2014.

Edna spent 17 years living in the San Diego, California area before returning to Sallisaw in 1974. Throughout her professional journey, she held various roles, including auditor for the Department of Defense, bookkeeper for her husband's business, and she ultimately retired as a postmaster. A dedicated member of the Church of Christ Sallisaw for 51 years, Edna was a cherished Christian for 73 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Gail Reves of Spokane, WA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters in Christ. Edna also leaves behind her four beloved fur babies: Little Mama, Skukeen, Crayon, and Charcoal, along with several other relatives and friends.

Preceding Edna in death were her husband, Bobby; her son and daughter-in-law, David Wayne Reves and Jeannie; her parents; her sister, Eva Elizabeth Fulcher; and two fur babies, Blackie and Pippa.

Active pallbearers will be Cana Hall, Raymond Mitchell, Elijah Winton, Drake Winton, Don Garrett, and John Dodson. Honorary pallbearers include Charlie Brackett, Larry Long, Bro. Royce Martin, and Jimmy Dodson.

Viewing will be available from 2 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
