Ed Watts, age 80, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on December 15, 1944, in the Seven Oaks Community of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Ada Maudene (Parsons) Watts and Dale Watts.

Ed was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sequoyah County District 3. His dedication to his work and community was well-known and appreciated by those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (Moore) Watts; his daughter, Debra James of Sallisaw; and his sons, John Beasley and Beth of Cunningham, KY, Doug Bethel and Amy of Vian, OK, Scott Bethel and Billie of Sallisaw, OK, Nathan Beasley of Sallisaw, OK, and Jason Bethel and Jennifer of Sallisaw, OK. Ed was a cherished grandfather to 19 grandchildren, Jacob James, Connor James and Shelby, and Hannah James, all of Sallisaw, OK, London Smoke of Sallisaw, OK, Jonna Cottrell and Andrew of Paducah, KY, Tisha Olinger and Steven of Saltville, VA, Titus Beasley and Hannah of Melber, KY, Nicki Brake and Tristan of Sallisaw, OK, Brett Beasley and Cheyenne of Bardwell, KY, Brad Beasley and Freedom of Bentonville, AR, Ashlyn Beasley of Pocola, OK, Kinsey Bethel, Destrey Bethel, Maddie Bethel, Hogan Bethel, Danielle Bethel, Jacelyn Bethel, Austin Vega and Alyana, Jessica Vega. He was also the proud great-grandfather of 17 great-grandchildren.

Ed is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Hunt and James of Sallisaw, OK, and Dale Lynn Vaughn of Midway, TN; as well as son-in-law, Mike Smoke of Sallisaw, OK; and numerous other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (Rhoades) Watts; one daughter, Julie Smoke; his parents; one brother, Bobby Joe Watts; and two sisters, Alta Kay Parsons and Ann Looper.

A funeral service honoring Ed's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, with burial following at Peters Cemetery. The service will be conducted under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Visitation for friends and family will take place on Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 PM to 8 PM.
