Funeral Service for Dwight Elvin Henry, 75 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Hillside Pentecostal Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born January 1, 1948, in Inglewood, California to Ruth (Rhoads) Henry and Elvin Delbert “Beck” Henry. He passed this life, onto the promised land, on March 22, 2023, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Diana Gwin (Middleton) Henry on April 16, 1976, in Barling, Arkansas.
Dwight started his career in manufacturing at Whirlpool Corporation in Fort Smith, AR on March 19, 1976. During his time there he worked in various areas of the plant. He furthered his education at Westark and UAFS and spent his last years at Whirlpool working in the Tool & Die department. He continued working there until his retirement came a little early when the company shut the doors on the Fort Smith plant.
Dwight was an active member of Hillside Pentecostal Church of God. He loved church.
Survivors are his wife, Diana of the home; one daughter, Sarah Marie Garcia and David of Sallisaw, OK; two sons, James Stephen Henry and Alicia of Sallisaw, OK and Jordan Scott Henry and Sarah K of Sallisaw, OK; seven grandchildren, Dylan Jay Pelt, Jameson Dwight Henry, Jillian Lako Henry, Jack Henry Craighead, Samuel Beck Henry, Jakab Nelson Garcia, and Jeremiah Scott Henry; one great-grandchild, Bryar Rose Pelt; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Active pallbearers will be James Henry, Jordan Henry, David Garcia, Dylan Pelt, Jameson Henry, Jack Craighead.
Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Henry, Jakab Garcia and Jeremiah Henry.
Viewing will be 1 – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the NHS-Sequoyah Hospice program who provided the most amazing care and support through Dwight’s final days.
