Dr. Bruce Miewald, M.D.

Dr. Bruce Miewald, M.D., age 68, of Galveston, Texas, passed away on August 9, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1956, in Portland, Oregon, to Romona Jean (Cron) Miewald and John Ross Miewald.

Dr. Miewald dedicated his life to medicine and was a valued mentor and advisor to many younger doctors throughout his career. His passion for helping others extended beyond his professional life, as he cherished his role as a husband and father.

He married his beloved wife, Heather Elaine (Jones) Miewald, on April 3, 2020, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. 

He is survived by his wife, Heather of the home; two sons, Alex Miewald of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Ross Miewald of Missoula, MT; two step-daughters, Avonlee and Ava Nix of the home; two brothers, David Miewald and his wife Michelle of Missoula, MT, and Donald Miewald and his wife Tonya of Seattle, WA; his best friends Jdog and Rizzo; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Dr. Miewald was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Buddy.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Redland Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Viewing will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from noon to 8 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel, where the family will welcome friends between 6 and 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will include his sons, Alex and Ross Miewald, along with Michael Miewald, Don Miewald, and Dave Miewald.
