He was born on July 20, 1944 in Santa Cruz, California to Cora Joan (Wall) Burruss and James Earnie Burruss and passed away on March 3, 2024 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was married to Nelda Kay (Willis) Burruss on June 22, 1963 in Kelseyville, California. Mr. Burruss was a jack-of-all-trades, including working as a barber, drywaller, auto mechanic and home repair contractor.

Survivors are wife, Nelda of the home; one daughter, Kelley Padgette of Muldrow, OK; two sons, Kris Burruss of North Carolina and Brian Burruss of Fort Smith, AR; six grandchildren, Martine, Teddy, Joy, Steven, Kyle and Johnathan; six great-grandchildren, Ember, Niccoli, Ever, Elias, Enya and Lilliana; sisters-in-law, Glenda and Joy; brothers-in-law, Wayne, Paul, Richard, Marty and Leonard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary and Naomi; and brothers, Ivan and Vernon.
