Debra Kay (Thomason) Wright

Debra Kay (Thomason) Wright passed away in Houston, TX after a heroic battle with cancer on June 27, 2023. Born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 1, 1953 to Wesley and Mary Margaret “Marjorie” (Duffield) Thomason, she was the 10th of 12 children in a loving, fun, and dynamic family.

Debbie spent her childhood in Choctaw, Mustang, Sallisaw, and Wanette OK, before moving to McLoud, OK where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Micheal N. Wright. She graduated from McLoud High School in 1971 before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado with Mickey where they were married in 1975.

Debbie and Mickey shared over 50 wonderful years filled with laughter and devotion while nurturing a loving family of 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren. Debbie was a kind and generous mother and grandmother. She was a beloved aunt and caring friend who will always be remembered for her unconditional love for everyone.

She embraced life and traveled the world sharing many adventures with her friends and family. She was always open to new experiences as long as she didn’t get her hair wet and there was an ice cream cone at the end of the journey.

She is survived by her husband, Mickey, and daughters Jennifer, Donelle, Kimberly, and Laura.

Funeral Service for Debra Kay Wright, 70, of Humble, TX will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel, 123 South Wheeler Ave, in Sallisaw, OK. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, OK under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Viewing will be 1 – 2 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
