He was born on October 13, 1936 in Gore, Oklahoma to Rosella (Waters) Teehee and Charlie Teehee and passed away on September 3, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was married to Nan Teehee. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the NightHawk Society. Dave was the chief at Redbird Smith Ceremonial Grounds for 28 years. He took great pride in continuing our ways. He traveled to many grounds to help, knowing the struggle and hard work it is to keep a ground going. He would always remind our members to not cut corners and do things the way our grandpas done before us. Dave had one special best friend in Chippy. He always brought a smile and joy in his every day. He loved all kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and all extended. Dave had many friends and never knew a stranger. With his contagious smile and laugh, he welcomed each person with conversation. He never laid a judgmental eye. In this time of his passing, he’s telling us all to remember this is the moment to celebrate. Celebrate his long lived life. Don’t cry, be happy that he has been reunited with the loved ones that went before him. Family and friends, we’ve all come together now. This is what he wanted.
