David Eugene James

Graveside service for David Eugene James, age 77, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The service is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

David was born on May 22, 1948, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Lois Marie (Ashley) James and Walter Eugene James. He passed away on May 1, 2026, in Warner, Oklahoma. David honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a Communication Technician and enjoyed fishing and working on cars throughout his life. He was married to Ingrid L., who preceded him in death.

David is survived by his son, Jess James of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; his step-son, Gordon Blood of Washington State; his sister, Patsy M. Jones of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and three brothers, Loyd James and Sue of Van Buren, Arkansas, John P. James and Donna of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and Dwayne James and Gail of Roland, Oklahoma, along with several other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ingrid L.; his brother, Donald Ray James; and his infant son, David Eugene James, Jr.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM during this time.
