Charlotte Anne (Cotton) Chatburn was born September 10,1935, in Fort Smith Arkansas, to Robert Adair "Bob" Cotton and Doris Inez (Owen) Cotton. She passed away July 12, 2026 in Perkins, Oklahoma.
Charlotte was raised in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where some of her favorite memories were of traveling to rodeos with her father where he would rope calves and she would barrel race on her horse, Lady. After graduating High School in Sallisaw, Charlotte attended Northeastern State University where she followed in her mother’s footsteps pursuing a degree in education.
After graduating with a Teaching Degree, Charlotte began an adventure by accepting a teaching position in Murtaugh, Idaho. While teaching in Murtaugh, she met her future husband, John V. Chatburn, Jr., they were married for 68 years, which were spent either teaching in Morrison or enjoying retirement in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Some of Charlotte’s fondest memories were supporting the Morrison sport teams during each season and traveling the United States with John and friends to play golf at many different resorts.
The family would like to thank the staff at Red Bud Assisted Living and Companion Hospice for their attention to all of Charlotte’s needs.
Graveside Service for Charlotte will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
