A graveside service for Bobby Lamar Purvis, Jr., 68, of Norman, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma. This service is under the care of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Born on August 23, 1957, in Fort Pierce, Florida, Bobby passed away on July 10, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma. He wed Kasha (Tabor) Purvis on August 16, 2013, in Norman, Oklahoma. A graduate of Pocomoke High School in Maryland, Bobby joined the Air Force as a pilot and later transitioned to the Navy, achieving the rank of Captain. He earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety and became a police officer through the Maryland Police Officer Training Commission. Bobby also acquired a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry Riddle and served as a commercial pilot. With an impressive accumulation of 50 certifications across various fields, Bobby owned and instructed at the Ft. Smith Aviation Academy. His greatest fulfillment came from transporting patients in need through "Angel Flights."

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Kasha; his son, BJ Purvis, III and Chrysta of Pensacola, FL; his step-sons, JoeDan Shofner of Centerton, AR, and Blaze Shofner of Muldrow, OK. He also leaves behind three grandchildren; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Becky Tabor of Muldrow, OK and family members, Evan Brown of Conway, AR, Dustin Tabor and Jennifer, and Madison Tabor, all of McKinney, TX; along with many dear friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Bobby Lamar Purvis, Sr. and Jeanie.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Tabor, Pepper Matlock, JoeDan Shofner, Blaze Shofner, and Dustin Tabor.

Bobby's life was rich with dedication to service, passion for aviation, and love for his family, leaving a profound legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
