Memorial Service for Bobby Hofer of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Christian Life Fellowship Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Bobby passed this life on January 24, 2018 at the age of 80 years 11 months and 21 days in Fort Smith, Arkansas after battling congestive heart failure. He was born February 3, 1937 to Margaret “Louise” Posey and Walter Hofer in Laferia, Texas. He was the oldest of 2 boys and his brother, Walter “Roger” Hofer, preceded him in death in 2012. Bobby married Virginia Lee Powell in 1955 in Kingman, Arizona. He always said she was the one and only and he would never marry again after their divorce in 1982.

Bobby and Virginia have 4 children: son, Robert Hofer and wife Suzette of Bakersfield, California, daughter, Cindy Meek and husband Jim of Muskogee, Oklahoma, son, Garry Hofer and wife Alberta of Van Buren, Arkansas, and daughter Kari Dry and husband Jason of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Bobby has 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Bobby was a hard worker, working most of his life in construction, building houses with his dad and later he worked as an oilfield hand until he retired. He was a Christian and a believer in Jesus Christ.
Bobby loved to fish and spend time at the Casino and helping friends, he was a good friend to those he cared about.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Cremation was under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
